President’s Welcome
The Rotary Club of Brisbane High-Rise
welcomes you to our web site where we showcase information on
Club activities and provide a point of contact for meeting
visits and membership opportunities.
The Club is part of the world-wide
network of Rotary International which promotes service to others
in business and community life as well as international
understanding for the advancement of peace and goodwill.
Rotary International 2008 -2009
President, D K Lee has chosen the theme "Make Dreams Real" - and
has asked Rotarians everywhere to focus on the most precious
resource of every community: our children. Every child deserves
the chance of a healthy life. Unfortunately, 30,000 children
die every day from preventable diseases.
Rotary is truly a global network of
volunteers and is uniquely able to tackle a goal as ambitious as
"a reduction in the child mortality rate" as set by President
Lee.
Our Club has an enthusiastic and dynamic
membership of business and professional leaders who actively
support and undertake community service within the Brisbane
region and in the broader international Pacific arena. We
participate in programs to address inequality and disadvantage
in society as well as promote leadership and international
education and cultural exchange.
Please take time to explore the
activities of Brisbane High-Rise and I hope this will inspire
you to help us continue our humanitarian activities through
attendance and participation at our club.
Deborah Le Garde. |
